RESO creates standards for unique identifiers for property parcels (UPI), organizations (UOI) and real estate licensees (ULI) to ensure that industry data can be stored, shared and displayed in an efficient and accurate way.
Real estate data sets that benefit from unique identifiers:
- Rosters for brokerages, associations and MLSs
- Shared property data sets for affiliated and franchised brokerages
- Data shares across MLSs
- Aggregated agent and listing data sets for advertising and display portal websites
- MLS and broker sales records for data reporting, CMAs and market analysis
RESO Universal Parcel Identifier (UPI)
The UPI is a model to accurately identify the parcel number and subcomponents of properties. It leverages the identifying structures of parcel recording entities and associates them inside of a global framework.
The UPI was created as an international model that can be adopted anywhere, and it is growing in usage across many North American and European countries.
RESO Unique Organization Identifier (UOI)
The real estate industry has a critical need for a UOI that records the source of data.
In shared roster, listing and sales data sets, identifying where that data originated with a UOI lends significantly greater accuracy to industry tools and information.
RESO Unique Licensee Identifier (ULI)
The activities of real estate sales licensees offer insights that guide businesses and consumers. The ULI offers the ability to accurately track these activities across organizations, whether or not agents are REALTORS®.
The ULI is the key to unifying industry data across all markets.
