Salt Lake City, UT, July 26, 2018 –(PR.com)– MLS Grid announced today its achievement of the Real Estate Standards Organization’s (RESO) Data Dictionary 1.6 Platinum Certification – the highest certification available from RESO. Fewer than 50 organizations in the MLS industry have achieved the Platinum Certification level.

The RESO Data Dictionary serves as the real estate industry’s “Rosetta Stone” by creating a common language that allows real estate data to be more easily understood and shared across all technology systems. The current 1.6 Data Dictionary standard is the largest in the history of the Data Dictionary with hundreds of new data elements and expanded capabilities, including Accessibility, Showing Data, Saved Searches, Prospecting, Internet Tracking, Structure Types, standardized Universal Identification of Organizations and more.

“RESO industry standards are the foundation of MLS Grid that allows us to succeed in our mission to provide a single, standardized data point of access and management for brokers, vendors and MLSs. MLS Grid eliminates technical, licensing and enforcement redundancies,” said MLS Grid CEO, Joseph Szurgyi. “MLS Grid is RESO in action. Our goal for the entire system is a RESO implementation.”

“Being 1.6 Platinum certified is outstanding, and we’re excited about our success. But, it’s just half the challenge for MLS Grid,” said Szurgyi. “Creating a truly useful data feed for brokers and vendors requires a tremendous amount of work to standardize the fields and field values in a single data feed from multiple MLSs. MLS Grid is about solving the brokers’ problems.”

According to Szurgyi, the number one complaint from brokerage firms and application vendors is dealing with different MLSs’ licenses, enforcement processes and data feed changes. MLS Grid removes these obstacles, with standardized licensing, data usage, display terms and compliance processes. Removing these obstacles allows brokers and vendors to focus their resources on innovation and products and not on licensing and compliance.

MLS Grid is a cooperative venture of ten MLS organizations across the nation, serving more than 200,000 real estate professionals. MLS Grid, which recently launched in the Chicago area’s Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC (MRED), is scheduled to launch all ten MLSs in 2018.

“Licensing, display and compliance have all been adopted by the ten MLSs, and the data is Data Dictionary 1.6 Platinum certified. As additional MLSs are launched, the data values and data feed content are being modified so that a broker or vendor can use data from multiple MLSs in a single data feed. MLS Grid is excited to provide this uniform platform for MLS data feeds for the benefit of its brokers,” said Szurgyi.
