October’s RESO Retreat at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina (home of the 2021 PGA Championship), and held virtually online, will be the ultimate work and play getaway!
We will learn about new developments in PropTech, collaborate on next-level standards and have the great time we always have at RESO conferences.
We probably had you at “resort,” but we’ve still put together our customary list of 12 reasons to get even more excited about this fall’s event. Let’s get started!
1. Limbo-Low Pricing for Content at Lob Wedge Heights
At just $450 for members and $550 for non-members, there are few, if any, national real estate events that you can attend at that price, especially including breakfast on all three days of the conference and lunch on the first two days. What’s more, RESO Retreat will be packed with groundbreaking sessions, dynamic real estate leaders, fun evening receptions and the most photogenic swag bag goodies this side of the Oscars. | REGISTER NOW
2. Luxury Living
While on the island, you’ll enjoy a bevy of onsite accommodations hosted on a 5-star resort that offers extra privacy in luxurious villas.
Available in 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom options, each villa includes a private bathroom for each bedroom, full kitchen, living room and all the comforts of home.
Space is limited, so register and reserve your villa before they are sold out. | REGISTER & VISIT THE RESO RETREAT EVENT PAGE
3. Spectacular Sponsors
We are eternally thankful for our phenomenal sponsors that continue to support events like this and the common causes of RESO. Without their support in and out of workgroup meetings, we would not be the collective force for positive change that we are in the real estate industry, and the word “villa” wouldn’t be part of our conference vernacular. Thank you, sponsors!
- Diamond: .realtor + .realestate (National Association of REALTORS®), Zillow, RentSpree
- Platinum: CoreLogic, Homes.com, Realtor.com, TourZazz
- Gold: Homesnap, Stellar MLS, Bright MLS, CRS Data, dynaConnections, MLS Grid, Rental Beast, ShowingTime
- Silver: FBS
- Bronze: RE/MAX, RPR, Showcase IDX
4. Flashy Flexibility
After running three successful large-scale, remote-only conferences, we’re not even going to lie – we know what we’re doing. We will have you covered no matter how you want to join in on this fall’s conference. We’ll have onsite and livestreaming options to accommodate what works best for you. | CHECK OUT THE AGENDA
5. Real & Virtu(re)al Roundtables
Take a high dive – no splash – into targeted discussions during our popular roundtable discussions sponsored by Rental Beast.
There will be in-person and virtual roundtables. Onsite roundtables will be set up in separate rooms to allow discussions to flourish in focus without extra background noise. Roundtables with virtual hosts and attendees will be prepped and ready via Zoom.
6. Workgroup Meetings
All attendees are welcome to join any of the workgroup meetings during the event. You do not have to be a monthly regular to have a seat at the meetings that help shape real estate standards.
If you are not sure which workgroups are the right fit for you, attend the “Workgroup Speed Dating” session hosted by all the workgroup chairs on Day 1 of RESO Retreat. They will provide a brief overview of each workgroup and what they are currently working on.
- Meetings on the agenda:
- Data Dictionary
- Data Dictionary Subgroups: Showings, Commercial, Rental, PayloadsTransport & Certification
- Research & Development
- Internet Tracking
- Cross-Platform Interoperability
- UPI (Universal Property Identifier) and Distributed Ledger (together again!)
- Broker Advisory
7. Recreating Recreation
Remember fun? During this retreat, we’ll work hard in the mornings, but the afternoons will be for enjoying everything Kiawah has to offer.
The resort boasts extraordinary recreation activities like golf, biking, kayaking, fishing and more. For those wanting a break from the go-go, a luxury spa invites onsite for you to unwind and relax.
Warning: Reserve early! BIKE RENTALS | GOLF | SPA | RECREATION | GOLF RESORT HOME
8. Rockin’ Receptions and Hours of Happiness!
Most RESO conferences offer three sponsored receptions. It’s a crowd-pleasing formula, and we’re adding to the pleasure this fall with four total gatherings at receptions, happy hours and nightcaps.
- Monday, October 18: Welcome Reception sponsored by RentSpree at the Ocean Course
- Tuesday, October 19: Reception sponsored by Zillow Group at Mingo Point
- Wednesday, October 20:
- Happy Hour with CoreLogic at Night Heron Park
- Nightcap with TourZazz at Osprey Point
9. Pain Points: Fail Forward
“I’ve failed many times in my life and career and, because of this, I’ve learned a lot. Instead of feeling defeated countless times, I’ve used it as fuel to drive me to work harder. So today, join me in accepting our failures. Let’s use them to motivate us to work even harder.” – Phil Mickelson
Twelve days after that tweet, Phil Mickelson won the PGA Championship in his next start at age 50 on Kiawah Island.
Taking a cue from Lefty, the must-attend RESO conference session happens on Thursday morning. “Pain Points” features gloves-off discourse about the most difficult aspects of working with real estate data. Enjoy the excitement with the popular Bloody Mary Bar sponsored by Homes.com.
So grab a morning cocktail or hydrate on the final day of the conference for this free-form discussion, whether you are in the room or interactive. The online Zoom chat will be open to all and captured for RESO’s next set of action items.
10. Peachy Beaches & Gorgeous Golfings
We have already noted the recreation, but we must gush further about the beach scene and golfing! Kiawah Island boasts 10 miles of pristine, loosely populated beachfront. Want a sneak peek? Check out the beach cam. RESO has organized two beach walks before breakfast for early risers on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Kiawah Island is also a premier golf destination, featuring seven award-winning courses (five owned and maintained by Kiawah Island Golf Resort) designed by Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and more.
11. Appy Trails…and Boardwalks and Birds and…
The Town of Kiawah Island maintains an app for iPhones and iPads that provides a beach map with GPS, shopping options, a wildlife directory, tide information and other community information. Download it for free from Apple’s App Store. Search “Town of Kiawah Island” or visit https://www.kiawahisland.org/ for other devices.
12. Networking
All attendees will have the opportunity to network through the virtual event platform with fellow attendees, near and far, via lounges, the “my connections” feature and sponsor expo booths. Onsite, there will be a dedicated place to meet up, talk shop and enjoy beverages in person at our Networking Lounge sponsored by Bright MLS.
It’s going to be magical, and we’re looking forward to seeing most of you on the island!
