Three Questions
Here are two RESO champions who were recently featured:
RESO Workgroup Meetings
Transport Workgroup | December 4, 2023
The Transport Workgroup approved the Add/Edit (RCP-010), Business Rules (RCP-019), EntityEvent (RCP-027), and EntityEvent with Webhooks (RCP-028) proposals, and they were ratified by the RESO board. Add/Edit with Media was also discussed, as well as the Winter 2024 Developers Workshop and RESO 2024–2025 Product Roadmap. | NOTES
Interoperability Workgroup | December 12, 2023
The RESO 2024–2025 Product Roadmap was presented, and the items that can most help with interoperability were highlighted. An update on the metadata collected for Offer Management (OM) was given and potential uses of an OM resource and related standards were discussed. The RESO Best Practices Guide (or RESO Blueprint) was discussed, and related action items were set for the next meeting. | NOTES
Fast Track Subgroup | December 19, 2023
Mapping suggestions from prior meetings have been loaded into the variations service. The group reviewed and approved the suggested mappings on the Fast Track – December 2023 – Suggested Mappings sheet. The sheet contains suggestions for the remaining lookup values of the first batch of top-used fields and the lookup values of the Appliances field from the second batch. The group decided that creating a separate spreadsheet specifically for review is not needed. Going forward, comments can be made on the color-coded working sheet ([Fast Track 2023-12-19] Suggested Mappings). The group suggested that the Data Dictionary Workgroup review the definitions and synonyms of the Co-Ownership and Timeshare options of PropertySubType, as they relate to the term, “Fractional.” The group also suggested that the Data Dictionary Workgroup may consider adding a field specifically for conveying Water Heater information. | NOTES
Rental Subgroup | December 20, 2023
The group continued discussion on the Ongoing Fees and Move-In Costs topics. Recommendations from the meeting include adding lookup options of Internet and Gardener to the TenantPays and OwnerPays fields and to deprecate the Residential Lease reference from the RentIncludes field. Additionally, the group recommended that dollar amount fields be created for each of the recommended lookups for the proposed Move-In Costs field, pending further research of certification aggregate data. | NOTES
Universal Property Identifier (UPI) Workgroup | December 20, 2023
The meeting included a presentation and discussion of the various formats available for the next version of the UPI. UPI version 2.0 was discussed at length and is proposed to reduce duplication, allow for compatibility outside of the U.S. and increase adoption. The group set a goal to further test, validate and obtain feedback on UPI version 2.0 in order to write a proposal to be taken to the RESO Board of Directors for approval. | NOTES
Data Dictionary Workgroup | December 21, 2023
The meeting included discussion on Data Dictionary 2.0 certification testing rules. Specifically, data elements and attributes in the payload must match what is advertised in the metadata. A motion to change eight resource names from plural to singular form was approved. The group discussed the possibility of a new standalone field to describe water heaters, for which further research of aggregate data will be conducted and posted. Several other items were discussed and will be posted for review to be brought to a vote at the next meeting, including renaming the PowerStorage Resource to PropertyPowerStorage, new EventType lookups for the Internet Tracking Workgroup and a new addition to the ShowingServiceName field. | NOTES
Research & Development Workgroup | January 4, 2024
The group discussed the Business Linkage Resource Business Case (The Experience Record), and it was decided that it should be passed on to the Interoperability Workgroup to iron out further details. The potential MLS Data Process, Display Rules and Notification (Messaging) resources were discussed, as was the possibility of them being a single resource that could be presented in an easily consumable format. A spreadsheet from Zenlist showing data feed information, data processes and other details will be used as a starting point to be reviewed by subject matter experts (SME). | NOTES
