Recent Entries:
Recent Workgroup and Subgroup Activity
Data Dictionary Workgroup and Transport Workgroup / Certification Subgroup updates are now located in the Product Updates section above. All workgroup notes can be found in the RESO Workgroup Collaboration System powered by Confluence.
Data Dictionary Subgroups
Duplication Subgroup
The group completed their review and recommendations (deprecations and/or definition updates) on data elements identified as potential duplicates.
Global Subgroup
The group is working with SMEs to identify international needs and to create a welcome packet for new group members. Recommendations for new data elements have been posted for Data Dictionary Workgroup review.
New Construction Subgroup
The group continues to determine how the Data Dictionary may better support new construction data. Three new construction-specific date fields have been suggested.
Broker Advisory
Proposal: Creating a Brokerage Data Standard
The proposal suggests creating a formal Brokerage Data Standard and dedicated Data Dictionary schema to reduce data fragmentation across brokerages systems. A Brokerage Payload may be created to help with the goals of this proposal. This would include tagging the Data Dictionary fields needed for cross-platform data exchange.
Environmental Hazards: Focus on Mitigation
Feedback shows stronger support for standardizing mitigation data (e.g., fire‑retardant roofs, hurricane shutters) than for risk data (e.g., wildfire zones) due to verification and liability concerns. This aligns with the R&D Workgroup sentiment.
Interoperability Workgroup
Offer Management (OM) / Transaction Management (TM) Standardization
The group is developing a decentralized offer-exchange model to improve cross-platform interoperability. They are finalizing a Data Flow Diagram showing the lifecycle of an “Offer” record.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Interoperability
The group is considering fields to disclose when data or transactions are enhanced by automated tools (e.g., UniqueBotIdentifier, AutomatedAssistantYN).
Appraisal Payload
The group is initiating a new Appraisal Payload, modeled after the work on OM and AMS Payloads, to identify fields needed for appraisal and valuation tools.
Research and Development Workgroup
Creating a Brokerage Data Standard Proposal from Broker Advisory
The group collected feedback on a proposed Brokerage Data Standard and schema for core brokerage systems and suggested a Brokerage Payload could support the proposal’s goals.
Environmental Hazards: Focus on Mitigation
The group shifted from risk identification to documenting mitigation features. RESO staff are gathering example data elements for potential submission to the Data Dictionary Workgroup.
Smart Home and Internet of Things (IoT) Revamp
This topic has resurfaced to revisit the need for transparency around smart home devices during property transfers. A new, in-depth proposal will be drafted for standards covering device details, reset status and contract obligations.
