International MLS Forum Heads to Istanbul as FIABCI Joins the Global Data Exchange
The 4th International MLS Forum (IMLSF) will take place in Istanbul, Türkiye, November 16–17. RESO will once again serve as an organizer with Advanced Real Estate Services (ADRES) and RealtyFeed. The local host is TÜGEM Türkiye, and Universal Consulting Opportunities will serve as the Title Partner.

Approved Votes
- Rename the Barrel/Cistern lookup of the ExteriorFeatures field to Rain Barrel.
- Add the Land Property Type to the OtherStructures field and its lookups.
- Add Porch as a new lookup to the ImageOf field.
- Add new lookups to the measurement source fields to bring them into alignment with each other (see Measurement Source Lookup Inconsistencies).
Approved Motions for Current Voting Period
- Add BelowGradeBathrooms and AboveGradeBathrooms Number-type fields to the Property Resource.
- Add Appraisal as a new lookup to the ShowingRequestType field.

Data Dictionary Subgroups
Duplication
The group continued reviewing the Universal Mapping Initiative (UMI) analysis of the Possession field. Three proposed lookups were checked against existing Data Dictionary elements, with no direct duplicates identified. Upon Completion was recommended for Fast Track Subgroup and Data Dictionary Workgroup consideration as a new lookup, along with guidance for its use in conjunction with PropertyCondition, if approved. Subject to Contingency and On Specified Date were referred to Fast Track for further review. | NOTES
Fast Track
The group reviewed UMI-proposed lookups for the Possession and Disclosures fields, with approved elements slated for Data Dictionary Workgroup consideration. For Possession, the group recommended Immediate, Upon Completion and On Specified Date, and supported extending the AvailabilityDate field to all Property Types and renaming it PossessionDate. Rejected Possession lookups included Delayed Closing, which was redirected to the AvailabilityDate discussion, while Subject To Contingency and Subject To Seller Finding Housing were deferred pending Disclosures review. For Disclosures, Easement was recommended as a new lookup. The group was also briefed on an upcoming two-day UMI Workshop with four 90-minute sessions to review 20 mapped fields, with a date-selection survey forthcoming. | NOTES
GlobalThe group reviewed recently approved data elements, including new location fields and updates aimed at internationalizing the Data Dictionary. Survey results for prioritizing upcoming focus areas were also reviewed, with location fields and Property Subtypes / Structure Types being the top priorities. Potential new fields such as InternetPriceDisplayYN and ComplexName were approved for recommendation to the Data Dictionary Workgroup. Additionally, the group discussed potential future lookups and fields spanning various global architectural styles, property types and location identifiers. | NOTES
Interoperability
The group reviewed Offer Management metadata submitted by Xome to evaluate its inclusion and placement within the Offer Management Data Flow Diagram (DFD). The diagram maps the lifecycle of an offer record from buyer agent submission through finalization. The submitted metadata will be compiled into a dedicated Offer Management Google Sheet and shared with the group, following the approach previously used for Transaction Management. | NOTES
Research & Development
Updates were given on the progress of several initiatives, including approving standards for communicating disaster mitigation/preparedness, the ongoing analysis of the Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD) 3.6 specification’s alignment with the Data Dictionary and the UMI. The Unique Licensee Identifier (ULI) Resolution Protocol was presented to the group with a request to review it. The goals of the Governance Subgroup were reviewed, and two new subgroups (Identifiers, Schools & Geographies) were outlined. | NOTES
Transport Subgroups
Identifiers
The group reviewed the Organization and System Identifiers Proposal, which aims to make organization and system identifier standards consistent and predictable across markets for both data providers and data consumers. The group moved to send the proposal to the Transport Workgroup for their review and official vote on approval. | NOTES
Schools & Geographies
The group continued discussions on geographical identifiers, Web API geo query capabilities and school data structures. Motions included a proposal for CityGeoId and CountyOrParishGeoId as new Data Dictionary fields and adding spatial query and geo filtering capabilities to the Web API Core specification. A new resource or data shape for standardizing schools was also considered. The structure was not finalized, but it was agreed that the new model should replace current flattened fields. Several candidate fields were recorded to standardize schools in the Data Dictionary.
