Pain Points
In recent years, RESO’s conferences have ended in a Pain Points session. These meetings are a moderated, yet mostly free-form discussion on where industry organizations are struggling.
Whether it’s inefficiency in standards, tools, processes or organizational relationships, Pain Points allows members to voice their current industry gripes to the RESO world.
Pain Points has quickly become RESO’s most popular conference session, and the spring 2021 rendition took it to another level. More than 200 attendees piled onto the Zoom link. It was scheduled for 90 minutes but continued for nearly three hours of discussions about the solutions that RESO can provide to the real estate industry.
What follows from this marathon brainstorm should illustrate the vast range of opportunities that lay before us as professionals that desire positive change for our partners, customers and even competitors. | READ MORE

RESO Committees and Workgroups
Cross-Platform Interoperability Workgroup | May 11, 2021
The group took a deep dive into Transaction Management, taking a step back from what was submitted to the Data Dictionary Workgroup to determine what more the group could do to forward sound proposals based on workflows and data flow diagrams. The group is starting to believe that an independent Transaction Management resource may be needed rather than a payload of Property and Member data. | VIEW CALL NOTES
UPI Registry Subgroup | May 12, 2021
The group received a presentation from Mark Lesswing, the Distributed Ledger Workgroup Chair, on a UPI Resolver Proof of Concept. From the presentation, a discussion on approaches to scoring ensued, followed by a review of the feedback received on the existing API working spec. “Date” and “Category” are UPI components that will be worked on and discussed at the next meeting. | VIEW CALL NOTES
ULI Subgroup | May 12, 2021
The group continued its work on the ULI pilot, scoring and defining the proof of concept after confirming support for the methodology and direction outlined in previous meetings. ULI Subgroup members will create a lightweight user interface (UI) so that pilot participants can check their member data against the pilot’s matching accuracy. There is additional work to do in refining the elevator pitch, pilot data agreements and integration with existing membership processes. | VIEW CALL NOTES
