RESO Approves Updated Standards, Opens for Certification – The Blog Post
Last week, RESO put out an official news release about our updated technical specifications for RESO Dictionary 1.7 and RESO Web API 1.0.2 Core, effective November 10, 2020.
Multiple listing services (MLSs), technology companies and real estate brokerages can now be certified on these updated standards.
Certifications for both Data Dictionary and Web API will be granted simultaneously to an MLS upon passage of a Data Dictionary implementation via an MLS’s certified Web API server.

RESO Web API and Native Data Dictionary MLS Systems: Stages of Standardization
The RESO Web API is the modern way that MLSs transport data to their brokers and their vendors. Many MLSs have non-standardized data in their internal “native” databases. That data is mapped, or matched, to RESO’s Data Dictionary standards and delivered to customers via the MLS’s Web API services.
Standardized data is what technology companies and brokers are asking for from their MLSs. They want to build technology that works across many markets efficiently and quickly. So a RESO-certified Web API is the way these MLSs can provide a “cleaned up” layer of data over top of their native systems. | READ MORE

Voting is now open for the nominees to the RESO Board of Directors. The RESO board is responsible for the governance of RESO and development of the organization’s strategic plan. All candidates for the board are representative of a RESO member organization.
Open Seats in This Election:
One (1) Class B (Technology Companies, Developers, Partners & Consultants) with revenue over $25 million annually.
Two (2) Class C (MLSs and REALTOR® Associations) with fewer than 50,000 subscribers.
Two (2) Class D (Real Estate Brokerages, Brokers, Agents & Appraisers) any tier.

RESO Internet Tracking Summary Fields Paper is Approved
The RESO Internet Tracking resource has added Summary Fields (approved for Data Dictionary 1.8). These fields are one-to-one tracking totals and not the record-by-record tracking data published in Data Dictionary 1.6.
The summary fields are the SUM of specific tracking events over a period of time (listings viewed, shared, etc.). They act as a basic template that should be provided from real estate data applications and services. | VIEW PAPER
Two RESO Members Set to Become One
Two influential RESO members are joining forces in the real estate data space. Congratulations to everyone involved!
CoStar Group has agreed to acquire Homesnap. CoStar Group provides commercial real estate information, analytics and online marketplaces. Homesnap is an online and mobile software platform that provides applications for residential real estate agent workflow and agent-client relationships.

Unique Licensee Identifier (ULI) Subgroup Meeting | November 13, 2020
Meeting Summary: The group spent the bulk of the meeting on an important deep dive into the possibility and feasibility of adding a Resolver implementation to the data pilot and the need for a documented workflow for Create, Update and Delete actions for participants in the Resolver network and any other significant events that might occur. | VIEW CALL NOTES
Action Items
- Determine the best path forward with business rules in order to begin working on a more concrete workflow beyond the theoretical.
- If we are going to use a semi-centralized approach, we need to create an accurate workflow diagram for the Resolver network.
Internet Tracking Workgroup Meeting | November 18, 2020
Meeting Summary: After a brief review of the agenda and workgroup activities during the RESO Remote Encore fall conference, the group spent the majority of the meeting discussing lead-related metrics and how well the Internet Tracking spec absorbs this data flow.
