Vice President Industry Relations and Standards, REcolorado

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Thanks in part to the work done by RESO, the future of our industry is taking a new shape and its infrastructure is being strengthened. RESO, along with its vision of promoting technology innovation in real estate are becoming more widely understood but there is still more work to do. The three most important priorities I believe RESO should pursue include:
1. Continuing to drive the implementation of data standards adoption by all stakeholders.
2. Strengthening support behind the Cross-Platform Interoperability workgroup, an initiative that will grow in importance as competing and complementary products are enhanced through the exchange of functionality and data.
3. Facilitating the adoption of RESO standards beyond MLS data, to include standards for the full ecosystem of property data such as taxing, water, and power authorities, which could potentially be addressed by the Distributed Ledger Workgroup.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• I believe I am well suited to actively contribute to the success of RESO by serving on the Board of Directors. My experience within the industry is diverse and will complement the background and experience of the members of the RESO board. I have a broad background that includes working for an MLS vendor and being a producing broker-owner. I am currently on the leadership team at REcolorado where I have overseen licensing of MLS data to vendors and brokers for data-driven products, as well as onboarding and data support. One of my proudest moments was when the REcolorado Board decided to adopt the RESO standard as our native data dictionary based on my evangelizing the benefits of data standardization and the efforts of the REcolorado team

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.
Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes, I am willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a two-year term. I have the support of REcolorado, as well as the REcolorado Board of Directors. REcolorado is fully dedicated to support the mission and vision for RESO. My active participation would continue to reinforce our commitment to the future of real estate technology.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• Experience bridging the business and technical and being a trusted industry advisor will help me bring together stakeholders in facilitated conversation.

SVP Industry Relations, Realtor.com

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• A) Helping RESO achieve its goal of financial stability/sustainability through continued support of the Board’s goal of reaching six months of financial reserves. RESO’s financial strength is a critical component to the organization’s ability to achieve and deliver upon its strategic plan.

B) Continued progress towards adoption of needed universal identifies for brokers and agents is one of my more important priorities for next two years. I believe the industry as a whole would benefit greatly from significant progress in this area.

C) The creation and adoption of a valued Data Dictionary for the Rentals segment would benefit many constituencies across the industry. I am confident that MLSs, Tech companies and consumers would all benefit from the progress that RESO can make over the next two years.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• A) I will continue to support the Board’s goals of financial stability through support of the recent Dues changes, continued sponsorship of RESO events and working to find additional opportunities to support RESO as we are now doing through our trial experience with the RESO “Working with Data” course for new employees within my firm.

B) I will continue to support and will deliver Realtor.com technical staff who will join the UPI and Data Dictionary workgroups in support of the priorities stated above.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.

COO, Stellar MLS

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• 1) The top priority should still be adoption of the Data Dictionary and API standards by installing plans to help accelerate their implementation. The long tolerance for organizations not adapting quicker needs to change.

2) Additional resources to focus on expedited expansion of the data dictionary for fields currently local/regional and additional payloads that make sense to real estate professionals.

3) Obtaining a higher level of support and engagement from the MLS and broker communities by way of additional campaigns and collaboration amongst one another and not waiting for one or two entities to do it for us.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• We were one of the first MLS in the country to have a native RESO certified back-end database because we saw the benefits and need to help lead. Stellar MLS has been a longtime advocate for adoption of these standards and I want to continue to provide the MLS perspective from a leading company in this space. My MLS experience overall and ensuring the right people from our team are dedicated in the workgroups will contribute to progress for RESO’s priorities and puts me a in good position to provide sound reasoning when helping the RESO Board make decisions.

We need stronger collaboration overall to help RESO attain its goals quicker, so our industry can be in better position to keep up with the innovation consumers want. Making sure there are clearly established messages for how each can help one another from the broker, MLS and vendor perspective is important to ensure we are all delivering what our customers need. I can help with additional marketing ideas and networking opportunities to influence other MLS’s and brokers to all have the right people at the table to accelerate adoption quicker.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.
Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• It would be an honor to serve on this important Board. I look forward to having an opportunity to dedicate my time to help RESO continue to grow and influence accelerated adoption of the standards.

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Certification of the rest of the major MLSs, Outreach to non-RESO members in PropTech to engage with the standards and Stub workgroups who have not delivered solutions that have reached production.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• I have been at three different vendors for 25 years and worked with MLSs all over the country. Those relationships will be useful when encouraging people to move towards the standard.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.

Founder & CEO, Rental Beast

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Establish Residential Rental Data Standards, Drive adoption for the RESO API, and help sunset RETS for the betterment of all vendors and MLSs.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• Once the Rental Workgroup concludes its development of standards, we’ll work to drive RESO certification to as many MLSs and Associations as possible. I’ll continue pushing to position RESO and its work as a critical “real estate organizer” to a broader audience of property managers and their software providers, i.e., Yardi, Appfolio, Entrata, and RealPage, as well as investors, lenders, and owner/operators such as Walker Dunlop, Fortress, and more.

Rental Beast is uniquely positioned in the intersection of Associations and MLSs, Landlords/Property Managers/Investors as the owner class, and real estate professionals. Because of our relentless focus on building a standardized rental database for the industry, we have the Rolodex, reputation, and drive to push on these priorities.

Rebecca Jensen

CEO, MRED

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• 1-) Adoption of automated certification process

RESO’s focus on removing roadblocks that inhibit adoption of standards is essential. The new automated certification process will provide greater transparency and reporting metrics so that the organization can more effectively manage standards adoption. Test driven implementation is a key part of the vision.

2-) Interoperability standard

As broker and vendor platforms become more robust and widely used, platform interoperability becomes even more important. Laying the groundwork for technology systems to talk to each other will allow the real estate industry to share data across platforms more easily. Additionally, instead of spending time and money on data entry and management, companies can improve their products for consumers. Plug and play interoperability is the BHAG (Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal) for the real estate industry!

3-) Unique identifiers

Adoption of the Universal Property Identifier (UPI), Unique Organization Identifier (UOI), and Unique Licensee Identifier (ULI) will allow the industry to better manage data sets and enable new insights to be created. Unification of data across the real estate marketplace will help practitioners and consumers gain more capabilities and improve data accuracy.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• I have served on RESO’s Board of Directors for nine years (five as Board Chair) and have been an MLS CEO for more than a decade. As an original Charter Member of RESO, MRED has a long history of being an evangelist for the creation and promulgation of RESO standards. MRED’s CTO (Chris Haran) currently serves as the Interoperability Workgroup chair.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.
Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes!

Mark Lesswing

CTO, T3 Sixty

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• RESO should continue to develop and encourage the adoption of standards that improve the exchange of information. Specifically, the Data Dictionary and WebAPI standards serve as fundamental building blocks upon which endorsements, supporting specific business emphasis, can be applied.

Another important priority should be the monitoring of the business environment to identify trends and business issues. This includes documenting business cases that identify improvements to the various facet of the community. These efforts were not only helpful to identifying and creating organizational, licensing and property identifiers (OUI, ULI and UPI respectively) but can also be used to address challenges such as bulk data replication and other transport issues.

Volunteer organizations depend on staff to organize workgroup activities. It is important to match staff resources to anticipated RESO activities and initiatives.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• I have worked as a RESO advocate through both the RETS and WebAPI eras. Information transportation will continue to evolve and my experiences will be useful as the industry continues to evolve.

I have served RESO at the board, workgroup and participant levels and my experiences will be useful as we address new challenges In addition to board responsibilities, I will continue to chair my RESO workgroup.

I have experience budgeting for and managing membership organizations. RESO will find these perspectives useful as we continue serving the industry.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.
Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes, I am. In addition to board responsibilities, I will continue to chair my RESO workgroup.

Chief Technology Officer, Bright MLS

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Define and drive the adoption of standards throughout the real estate ecosystem. This includes, but is not limited to, evangelizing the benefits of standards to MLS, brokers, government agencies, vendors and others. Collecting feedback from users to improve standards will increase the value of RESO. In addition, greater adoption will increase the value standards bring to all participants and the industry as a whole.

Address the needs of the real estate ecosystem. This requires understanding current and future needs, and ensuring standards are delivered in a timely manner to the marketplace. This could include extending existing standards (showing standards, etc.) or leveraging new technology (streaming, GraphQL etc.

Inclusivity and diversity. This includes diversity of thought, background, industry, geography, etc. Broadening the population of those involved will increase capacity of RESO and provide new voices with a diverse perspective to standardization opportunities. RESO should define priorities and measurement methods to ensure progress of all initiatives.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• As CTO of Bright I interact with various MLSs, Brokers, vendors, government agencies and others that benefit from using RESO standards. Through various opportunities (Bright tech and innovation summits, conferences, vendor engagements, etc.) I have the opportunity to interact with users, to advocate for and get real-time feedback from the marketplace on RESO standards.

In my role as CTO of Bright, I have many opportunities to see how RESO can support current and future needs of the marketplace. Currently, we are working with RESO workgroups to enhance showing as well as rental standards. The fact that Bright builds many proprietary products and services allows me to stay abreast of opportunities for improvements to standards, such as enhanced support for teams. Bright also uses modern technologies which will allow for new ideas to be shared and leveraged by RESO when appropriate.

I bring a strong technical background to my role with experience working in many sectors (FinTech, PropTech, Insurance, and Retail). Married with my experience working with other standards bodies such as MISMO provides me with a different perspective that could be valuable to the RESO Board.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.
Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• I am ready to dedicate my schedule and time to thorough and energetic service to RESO, should my candidacy move forward.

Bill Boyer
Class B - Over $25M

Head of Data Technology, CINC & RealGeeks

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Standardize the methodology of acquiring and replicating data from the RESO Web API. The acquisition of data from each of the RESO Web API vendors is slightly different, which requires additional coding for “data consumers”.
• Addressing the issue that “data consumers” have when data fields are lost when an MLS migrates to Data Dictionary. This will require a “Standard” on how to deal with data that is not defined in the Data Dictionary.
• Establish MLS certification and standards for IDX display rules, data agreements, and user reports back to the MLS.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• I have 20+ years of experience working for various “Vendors” in the real estate technology industry. I have on hand experience working with MLS data and the WEB API, it provides me an understanding of the challenges and the needs of the vendors that consume and use the data.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes, I would enjoy the opportunity to be able to contribute more time to RESO and I will bring the beer.

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• RESO continues to do an excellent job of setting standards that, when adopted, improve efficiencies. While advanced MLSs and technology vendors have made the move to the RESO API, many have yet to make the move from RETS. I would like to see RESO set a timeline goal for 100% RESO API adoption.

I would like to see RESO identify a path forward for setting a unique property ID standard for the industry.

I would like to see RESO set a standard address format and naming convention.

Without improvements in these areas, any broker or vendor working across multiple markets will run into the same standardization issues that add expense and complication to data normalization efforts.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• Having had experience running an MLS, with national brokerages, and with a national vendor, I can offer the Board insight into the data challenges and opportunities faced by all three across multiple markets. With my experience at HouseCanary, I would also be able to give perspective on how data standards would affect (both positively and negatively) a smaller, technology enabled national brokerage.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.
Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• I have had the opportunity to serve on the CMLS Board of Directors, the Broker Public Portal Board of Directors & Executive Committee, and on several local non-profit Boards. It was a privilege to offer my time to them and it would be a privilege to offer my time to RESO.

Marty Reed
Class C: Over 25,000 Subscribers

Chief Innovation & Strategy Officer, California Regional MLS (CRMLS)

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Acceleration of timetables.
RESO must accelerate its timetables for gathering feedback, exploring options, and implementing solutions. The model that has served RESO so far does not address the current urgent need to bring standards to market. Even under the most optimistic scenario, in which someone proposes a universally popular initiative or change, it may take months or years to start to roll it out with full RESO approval. As a RESO Board member, I will work to create methods to fast-track critical changes and improve the processes by which RESO grants approvals.

Consideration and involvement of consumer interests.
At a time when the needs and expectations of consumers in the North American housing market are rapidly evolving, RESO must not nor be seen as an insular organization solely focused on the experience of real estate professionals. Changes in consumer needs may, in some cases, outpace the real estate industry’s ability to respond to them. While RESO has done well to create better consumer experiences through the professional institutions it serves, forces outside of RESO’s control have created new options for these consumers. If a consumer’s choice is which agent or brokerage to use, RESO does a good job of serving that consumer. If, however, a consumer’s choice is whether to use an agent/brokerage at all, RESO needs to work to accommodate that consumer through its members.

Increase adoption and use of its UPI standard.
As consumer and professional options for real estate transactions increase, organizing the data along universal standards is critical. Implementing standards for how a RESO member describes a property has long-proven benefits, but if those descriptions apply only to that listing – as opposed to the property itself – real estate practitioners may find themselves in difficult situations. For instance, without broad adoption of the UPI standard, multiple sets of data describing the same property exist. It is only through consistent, cross-market usage of RESO’s UPI standard that the organizations RESO serves can get on the same page.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• My experience in the MLS industry includes collaborative work with multiple companies across North America. From CEO of Cooperative Arkansas Regional MLS to Senior VP of Business Operations at Black Knight, to my current role as Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer with the nation’s largest MLS, CRMLS, I have held many leadership roles and worn many hats at a diverse range of companies that serve this industry. I am also a seasoned industry volunteer, serving on the National Association of REALTORS® MLS Policy Committee, the Council of MLS Board of Directors, and multiple Arkansas REALTORS® Association Committees. Doing so has allowed me to leverage fellow professionals’ expertise, solve problems faster, and drive better outcomes long-term. I’m humbled by these opportunities and am confident my expertise and work ethic will bring positive results for the initiatives RESO supports.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.

John Breault
Class C - Fewer than 50,000

Vice President, MLS & Member Services for the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® (RIAR) and State-Wide Multiple Listing Service

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Expansion of API to include local MLS native fields. With new NAR mandates, accommodating the local fields is a must. I understand this can currently be accomplished, but the implementation of an easier method to accomplish this goal will benefit RESO, MLSs, and the real estate community.
• Creation and proliferation of a Unique Licensee Identifier (ULI) to address the pain point across Associations, MLSs, Vendors, and the real estate community related to the duplication of customer data across platforms, sometimes even within the same platform. An industry-wide identifier for licensees will create data accuracy across the industry.
• Contact interoperability. While strides are being made with property data, our industry needs to solve the pain point of managing contacts across multiple platforms. Standardized contact data will allow real estate professionals to move their customer information across the multiple platforms used in their daily business.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• With 34 years of experience in this industry, serving in a variety of roles, I understand the challenges and needs of all the players. I have been, and continue to be involved with RESO, CMLS and serve on NAR’s MLS Issues & Policies Committee. This experience combined with my passion will help me advocate for the changes outlined above. Additionally, working for the only MLS that is owned and operated by a state Association of REALTORS, I bring a unique perspective of both sides of the REALTOR community.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes.

Michael Bustamante
Class C - Fewer than 50,000

Director of IT & MLS, St Augustine & St Johns County Board of REALTORS®

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Ubiquitous usage of the RESO Web API.
• Simplified data access agreements and aggregated data resources.
• Elimination of archaic RETS data servers.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• Serving as the MLS Director for an MLS of around 1,200 participants and subscribers, I understand the challenges a smaller sized MLS has in understanding RESO’s goals and making them a priority. My contribution would be in providing key input to the RESO Board of Directors when discussing topics that are important to RESO but may not reach the working MLS staff and decision makers at smaller sized MLSs. Understanding how smaller sized MLS prioritize their resources and make decisions is something key to RESO’s success in bringing smaller MLSs up to speed with their larger counterparts.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• If elected to the RESO Board of Directors, I am willing and able to commit the necessary time to serve. RESO’s value to the real estate industry is more than worth the time its volunteers give to it.

Chris Carrillo
Class C - Fewer than 50,000

CEO, Metro MLS

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?
We need to continue to define the data dictionary so that all local fields can be incorporated into the standard. Once we can account for all local fields, we can truly embrace the standard through use and adoption of the WEB API. Additionally, we can start to improve efficiency natively into local MLS systems by implementing the dictionary directly in local schemas.

• Additionally, we need to continue to engage and grow our broker participation. To achieve our goals of absolute standardization we must have all stakeholders involved to ensure decisions are made in a meaningful way.
• Finally, we must continue to build on the partnerships we have built with CMLS and NAR. Our role in participating in policy and technical standards are necessary as we continue to build on past success.
• I believe this is the right thing to do on behalf of the MLS industry, brokers, agents, and consumers.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• The RESO Board of Directors represents the needs and will of the industry at large. In this, it’s important to have dedicated leaders from every aspect of the industry, we ensure the standards we seek to champion best serves the industry. I have been blessed to have been able to serve on this board for 4 years. In that time, I have focused on staying in my lane as an MLS Executive. I have ensured that the MLS Executive/Administrator voice and opinion remains heard in those conversations and decisions. I am the current NAR MLS Standards WG Co-Chair, I serve on the NAR MLS Policy Committee, NAR MLS Executive Advisory Committee, as well as the 2020 CMLS Past President. I point this out because in many circumstances I have been able to act as a conduit to those organization to ensure ideas and conversations are shared and supported. I am asking for your vote so that I may serve my third and final term! Thank you.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2 year term?

• Yes. I would be blessed and happy to serve again.

Glenn Christoph
Class C - Fewer than 50,000

CEO, Intermountain MLS

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• I feel it is important to reach those MLSs (and NAR) that are not RESO certified and work with them to become certified.
• RESO should continue to work on the Universal Property Identifier. UPI needs to introduced to others outside of buying and selling of real property. We should talk to Homebuilders, hardware stores – and more. Cars have VIN numbers and the industry has created a “car fax” so why not have a “house fax” to help the buyer in the decision of a home purchase.
• I feel RESO needs to continue to keep an eye on transport methods and technology is changing.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• I see my experience and evolvement in other national groups as a benefit to RESO. I’m Member & Director of CMLS, and NMUG So many issues overlap.
• I’m currently on the Data Dictionary & Internet Tracking Workgroups.
• My depth and breadth of experience is a powerful value add for the RESO Director position.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes — I have a well-established track record of significant, consistent commitment to RESO. Intermountain MLS and I are founding members of RESO. My commitment is and will be a major professional priority. I will not hesitate to make the Director position a commitment and fulfill it.
• My depth and breadth of experience is a powerful value add for the RESO Director position.

Lucie Fortier
Class B - Over $25M

Executive Leader, Product Management, CoreLogic

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Universal adoption of existing standards and API – RESO, and the broader real estate industry, has invested a lot of time, energy, and money in promoting the adoption of the existing data dictionary standards and Web API. And while there has been significant progress in this area, adoption is neither widespread nor complete. It is critical RESO finishes what it started and use its influence to realize the full promise of data standards and the benefits that can only come from universal adoption.
• Expansion of standards to address additional industry pain points – While the existing data standards provide tremendous benefit to the industry, other industry pain points critical to the foundation of a truly cohesive industry view remain unaddressed. For example:
– DOM/CDOM – standardization of statuses should facilitate the standardization of these two key industry metrics.
– Broker identification and hierarchy – knowing who has the right to make decisions related to data syndication/distribution is critical to everything that RESO does.
• API Update – Significant technical complexity surrounds Update because most MLSs have adopted the data dictionary by way of a data translation layer. Nonetheless, focus on execution and implementation of Update is key to overall industry cohesion, interoperability, and efficiency.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• As executive leader of product management for CoreLogic Real Estate Solutions, I have unique expertise and insight into both the business and technical aspects of the real estate data landscape. The portfolio of products under my purview includes Matrix, Trestle, Clareity, Realist, and other flagship solutions. As a result, I am intimately familiar with all facets of MLS and Public Record data, including data entry, distribution, and usage, as well as the business opportunities and challenges associated with the implementation/modification of related standards. I look forward to sharing these perspectives and being part of the solution to facilitate and accelerate adoption.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes. CoreLogic is fully committed to RESO and continuing its active involvement in the organization. Making time in my schedule to meet this commitment is a high priority for our company, myself, and my team.

Bill Fowler
Class D

Senior Director of Industry Relations, Compass

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Build on the “RESO isn’t just about *data* standards” concept – While data standards remain mission critical, the industry is noticing that RESO is a place where ideas are heard, developed, and potentially become solutions faster than any other outlet. Sam’s behind-the-scenes coalition-building and recent public advocacy for the NOW data policy is an example of this process and result. Therefore, RESO has an opportunity to grow in visibility and influence among a much wider audience in the industry (brokers) by formally adding the standardization of data policy as part of RESO’s ongoing mandate. It’s the broker’s largest problem and few realize the solution is emerging from RESO. Let’s name it. Brand it. Fund it.
• Broker engagement – Building on the above, create a separate lane for broker Industry Relations reps, separate from the vendor/data silos, to gather feedback, draft solutions, then rally for improvements collectively. Show brokers that RESO isn’t only about columns and rows; that their time and money spent will turn into results, and they’ll answer the call. Give them a special room (padded cell?) within the organization. Again, call that out loudly. Brand that alongside the data work. After all, they compliment each other beautifully.
• Adoption/Enforcement – Once broker reps are engaged, create real value for their participation by strengthening RESO’s voice into the individual markets. Work with these brokers’ neworks of leaders at the market level, through NAR and CMLS, to put real, timely action behind the policy standards that emerge from RESO workgroups.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• As one of a handful of active broker reps, I see myself as a pioneering voice for broker advocacy within RESO. I believe I have earned a reputation as someone who’s passionate about making the industry a better place for all, not just the brand I represent. I believe that’s a critical asset for RESO leadership. The “United Nations of real estate” needs those with a grander vision, true to the needs of all participants, not just their own, to have the greatest impact at RESO.
• I feel I have also earned a reputation as a thoughtful and empathetic, yet direct and honest communicator. I believe RESO needs more of this kind of veteran, influential leadership; understanding of the challenges we face, but with an urgent directive for cutting through bureaucracy and delays to keep pace with a constantly-moving, innovative marketplace.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2 year term?

• Yes.

Liz Tewksbury
Class B - Over $25M

MLS Operations Director, Homesnap

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• With the most recent iteration of the RESO Data Dictionary (1.7) and Web API 1.2.0 Core, assisting MLSs with overall implantation and certification as well as ensuring vendors have the support and tools needed to test their systems should be a key RESO priority over the next two years. In addition, RESO should address the issue of “non-RESO” fields and how to make that data available to consumers.
• Continued development of the UPI (Universal Property Identifier), which will aid in continuing to build standards around them.
• Overall increase in membership and adoption of RESO standards. Focus on MLSs and brokers who are not currently part of the RESO family. Getting all stakeholders on board is key to strengthening RESOs standing in the industry and ensuring that its mission and priorities are successful.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• With 10 years of industry experience – 7 years as the Product Manager of a large regional MLS and 3 years as Director of MLS Operations at one of the leading national real estate vendors – I have seen and experienced both the challenges and successes of adopting and operationalizing data standards. Whether you’re an MLS serving your subscribers or a vendor serving clients, it is all about balance. When working in the MLS capacity, adopting standards while maintaining the data elements your membership needs to conduct their business is an interesting but necessary balance that requires compromise. I fully understand the challenges this kind of adoption of data standards brings to any MLS organization. On the other hand, when working with the data as a vendor, it is also an interesting dance. We rely heavily on RESO data standards when building out new features, yet we’re often challenged with digesting data that isn’t set to those standards. Continued work toward standardization for all stakeholders will result in a better experience for consumers and make the job of our REALTORS easier.

• In addition to the experience above, my participation in a number of other national groups would also benefit RESO. These include:
– NMUG (National MLS User Group)
– Black Knight’s Paragon Advisory Board (Chair)
– CMLS, where I hold my CMLX 2 Designation
– RESO Data Dictionary Workgroup

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special task forces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes, I am willing and able to serve as a director for a 2-year term and can accommodate the meeting schedule, whether on calls or in person. I am also willing to serve on or chair committees and special task forces as needed.

Dan Troup
Class D

Director of Data Strategy & Operations, RE/MAX, LLC & Seventy3, LLC

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Broker engagement is at the top of my list. I would like to see RESO considered as an invaluable partner across the industry. If I can help amplify the brokers’ voice, we can continue to move the industry forward with agents’ and consumers’ needs at the forefront of our discussions and decisions.
• Brokers’ access to data is a high priority, and we can help create efficiencies in the delivery of timely data, both as a vendor and as a brokerage. Support of the NOW policy is something the industry needs.
• A renewed focus on standards for both transport and payload. Internally, RE/MAX has invested in the Data Dictionary, OUID, and WebAPI.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• RE/MAX, we have adopted RESO’s Data Dictionary and OUID. Through the aggregation and management of more than 500 MLS data feeds in the U.S. and Canada, I can share some outcomes and insights.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes, I am available and willing to make regular board meetings.

Morgan Carey
Class B - Under $25M

CEO, Real Estate Webmasters

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Universal Property ID: Advance the UPI concept to deliver on consistent listings data that is accessible within the U.S. and globally. This should be a priority because implementing it will A) enable a common property identifier that indicates the property location and unique attributes B) ability to match property data to relevant public data C) raise opportunities to introduce unique listings identifier internationally.
• Data Quality: Develop opportunities for brokerages, technology partners, agents, brokers to report / request data inconsistency changes. A way to crowdsource property listing errors can increase data quality standards faster.
• RESO Adoption by Brokerages, Agents, Brokers: Share case studies of how increased data standards will result in high quality and ease of implementations for their technology partners, which in turn will help raise their brands and businesses. There has been great progress on tech partners and MLS membership, more targeted efforts toward brokerages, agents, and brokers could increase RESO standards adoption in every class of membership.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• I am the CEO of Real Estate Webmasters (REW), a technology organization that has been providing real estate platforms with property listings data integration for over 15 years. As a board member, I will actively contribute by sharing my extensive industry experience, advocate for RESO and data standards across a strong and wide network, and share leading data integration best practices with other technologists.
REW is a RESO member and is 100% aligned with the objectives of evolving real estate data standards. REW is already on the journey to bring standardized data into its technology infrastructure. REW is currently partnered with technology & data leaders, and the Canadian government. The partnerships leverage RESO and lead the transformation of making property listings data consistent and reliable in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes, the time commitment to participate on the board and committees is a small ask for the return of benefits to all of us in the real estate industry.

Rebecca Jensen (Incumbent)
Class C - Under 50,000

President & CEO, Midwest Real Estate Data LLC

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Adoption of Current Standards –
RESO’s focus on removing roadblocks that inhibit adoption is essential. The organization can focus on streamlining certification, creating additional education pieces or other tools to guide MLSs and vendors through the transition process, and improving overall adoption metrics across the industry.
• Internet Tracking Standard –
Big data is part of the technology strategy for MLSs and brokers alike. Big data magnifies decision-making power, which leads to greater efficiencies. Creating greater efficiencies was one of the primary reasons that RESO was chartered in the first place. Through the great work being done by RESO’s Internet Tracking Workgroup, a new industry initiative (which I call IDX 2.0) can be created. Like its version 1 counterpart, IDX 2.0 will leverage the network effect brought to bear by MLSs to create a combined achievement that’s far greater than the sum of its parts.
• Interoperability Standard –
As broker and vendor platforms become more robust and widely used, platform interoperability becomes even more important. Laying the groundwork for technology systems to talk to each other will allow the real estate industry to share data across platforms more easily. Additionally, instead of spending time and money on data entry and management, companies can improve their products for consumers. Investing in more resources to support development of subgroups like the common schema will accelerate interoperability success. Plug and play interoperability is the BHAG (Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal) for the real estate industry!

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• I have served as an on RESO’s Board of Directors for seven years (four as Board Chair) and have been an MLS CEO for more than a decade. As the first official Charter Member of RESO, MRED has a long history of being an evangelist for the creation and promulgation of RESO standards. MRED’s CTO (Chris Haran) currently serves as the Interoperability Workgroup chair.
In my capacity as the current Board Chair for The MLS Grid, I’ve supported driving the adoption of RESO Web API standards across the industry. The MLS Grid’s technology workgroup has made many contributions that expand the common fields in RESO’s Data Dictionary. The MLS Grid is committed to enabling easier technology innovation in real estate through RESO.
I also serve on the Boards of The Broker Public Portal and CMLS. This gives me a unique ability to bring insight from RESO into the board rooms of these other important organizations, and vice versa.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• I have previously received RESO’s Contributor Hall of Fame recognition because I take the role of RESO Board Member very seriously. I’ve seen RESO’s value firsthand and I’m dedicated to spreading its compelling story across the industry for the betterment of real estate. I would be honored to continue serving on RESO’s Board of Directors.

Chip McAvoy (Incumbent)
Class B - Over $25M

EVP Real Estate Solutions, Black Knight

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Increase the adoption of all existing standards across the industry. We’ve made great progress over the past few years in enhancing both the data and payload standards. The next phase will be leveraging these across all participants in our industry.
• Develop programs to assist MLSs and Vendors in supporting and implementing new standards such as the WebAPI. A key to our success will be the ability of our MLSs to support the new standards within their installations. More needs to be done to ensure that both vendors and MLS staff have the right education, tools, and support to be successful.
• Extend certification processes to support Clients that consume data, in addition to, Servers such as MLSs that provide the data. Most of the focus over the past few years has been certification testing on the Server side. As the industry matures, we need the same level of compliance on the Client side. This will lead to lower costs and a true plug-and-play environment that all participants want.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• My broad background includes managing products that support MLSs, Brokers and Agents. I understand the unique business challenges of all of these constituents. From a technology perspective, I understand the ramifications of standards on both the server (MLS) and client (vendor). I will leverage this experience with my service on the Board to ensure that our initiatives meet the needs of all industry participants. I believe my understanding of the Real Estate Industry, coupled with my experience managing MLS, Broker and MLS data aggregation systems make me an ideal choice for the board.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes

Richard B. Renton, Jr. (Incumbent)
Class C - Under 50,000

CEO, Triad MLS, Inc.

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• During the CEO transition, it was imperative to continue ensuring that RESO Staff was empowered to reach the strategic goals set forth by the Board of Directors. Jeremy Crawford did a great job getting us to where we were at that point and now Sam DeBord has taken the helm and we’ve hired some additional staff as well. We’ve done a great job so far and as technology and business rules are ever changing, it is important for RESO to continue focusing on getting more MLSs and Vendors to become involved in CREATING these standards! RESO staff is unrivaled in this industry we think they are the best qualified to maintain RESO as a world class standards organization.
• Continue advancing RESO to the next level and beyond to ensure that our priorities are delivered quickly, efficiently, and accurately. This involves continually updating our standards and be very clear on the value proposition to membership as well as being attractive to other organizations that see how efficiently we operate. This includes continued outreach and education on the benefits of standards and the role they play in our industry. We need to ensure that our workgroups are staffed sufficiently and have the people in them that can contribute constructively.
• Continue to increase Broker involvement in RESO. This entire standards concept was originally created to help brokers across the country have more choices in choosing products and services in addition to portability issues and length of implementation time. When the underlying data that powers is adherent to a strict data standard, this process becomes much easier. With the many new brokerage models surfacing, we continue to learn and adapt and we should continue growing that side of the membership that ultimately benefits the most from using data standards. It’s a ever continuing education process to help ALL our respective members understand not only the benefits of implementing and USING data standards but also the Wild, Wild West scenario that was the reason we decided to implement standards in the first place for the Real Estate Industry.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• Like many of you, as one of the 89 Charter Members of RESO, I’ve believed in this and supported wholeheartedly since the inception. I’ve served on the RESO Board of Directors since January 2014. In 2015, I joined the Executive Committee as Secretary and since 2016 have served as the Treasure of RESO. During that time, we’ve continued to increase RESO resources and have added staff to accommodate our strategic goals. We continue to explore revenue opportunities and ensure that Membership and Conference Fee schedules are commensurate with membership and conference attendance benefits.
From experience, Treasurer of the RESO organization is most definitely a working board member appointment and I am proud to have contributed to the growth and continued relevance of RESO and would very much appreciate a chance to continue. I feel that continuity can bring benefits to this group and again, I would be proud and honored to continue serving this organization.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Since 2014, yes and thank you!

Andrew Sheh

CTO, Remine

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Help push the evolving standards and the education/adoption of the standards to each of the levels of the organizations working with real estate data
• Define objective milestones that organizations can hit to obtain certification, learn about technology partners that can assist
• Continuously add more public facing communications about standards changes, expose workgroup progress beyond the Atlassian email subscriptions, provide video feeds/quarterly status on what has been met goal wise

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• As one of the vendors going through the certification process, my role as CTO at Remine and potential role as a board member is to continue to advocate to partnering organizations, and find ways to connect people into RESO to participate more actively
• As a board member, participate more at RESO events, and help with external messaging and awareness of ease of RESO standard, ways people can support and contribute, and help push progress forward objectively faster
• Find ways from a technical perspective to provide working demos or APIs on the website so folks can interact with the standard more so than just read about the standards. Similar to providing a Swagger interactive interface for folks to “try”.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes

Colleen Yasuhara
Class C - Under 50,000

Chief Operating Officer, MLS Hawaii Inc. (dba Hawaii Information Service)

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Achieving meaningful adoption and implementation of the RESO Web API, and more specifically, two-way data exchanges between MLSs and listing databases and the myriad third-party services that expand and extend real estate applications.
• Focused and expert-driven work on both core and new categories of real estate data to better serve specialists and niche markets. Going beyond ‘Green’ fields to field groups that expand support for digital assistants, or for virtual and augmented reality, or to standardize agent and listing ratings and reviews.
• As a representative of a small, homegrown MLS system, I will advocate for greater representation and support for independent technology vendors, different business models, and even individual developers and entrepreneurs looking to bring innovation to the real estate marketplace.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• Our homegrown MLS is already the only public records-based, parcel-based system in production, and has been since its inception. And as the COO, I am spearheading the development of our next-generation platform based on APIs and microservices, utilizing open-source tools and leading-edge search technology, building modules under an agile, rapid-iteration, user-focused model.
Our company is also a successful B2B public records provider, serving the financial, legal, and other complementary markets, which provides for more than half of our annual revenue.
I feel I can contribute to productive, positive discussions and efforts to advance real estate technology as a whole, and to specifically guide MLSs and other legacy institutions to diversify their businesses and thrive – not just survive – in a rapidly changing marketplace.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes, I am willing to participate in remote meetings as well as to travel when required from Hawaii.

Ami Berger
Co-Founder & Creator, Voiceter Pro

A technology geek with a love of voice-driven technology, Voiceter Pro Co-Founder Ami Berger saw the potential for conversational interactions with personal digital assistants as these devices began to enter the consumer market. In fact, his desire to own an early Amazon Echo resulted in a bargain with his father to build a real estate application. Ultimately, this set the foundation for their new technology company.

Growing up around the family-owned real estate business nurtured the entrepreneurial spirit in Ami while giving him a solid understanding of that
business.

Ami and is father, Miguel, founded Voiceter Pro on a shared vision of an app that would allow consumers to ask Alexa to help find them the home of their dreams. This vision became the Real Estate Skill, which was launched in early December 2016.

Leveraging their deep experience in voice and real estate has resulted in Voiceter Pro being the industry’s leading provider of voice applications on Alexa and Google’s Assistant. Clients include brokerages, multiple listing services and associations.

Ami has written proprietary code that allows consumers to speak with today’s voice-driven AI-devices and be guided through a series of questions to find their next home, their current home’s value and open houses. This consumer interaction also generates an actionable lead for the Voiceter Pro client.

His code also drives an agent-focused application that allows them to connect to their MLS to access real-time business intelligence information. In the association space, the company has focused on content delivery and member engagement applications.

Fluent in several programming languages, Ami holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Cornell University College of Engineering.

When he’s not writing code, the Albany, NY native enjoys playing guitar, camping, exploring new restaurants, and hiking with his dog Bruno.

Katie Smithson
Class B - Under $25M

Director of Enterprise Services, W+R Studios

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Adoption of the RESO Web API by MLS Organizations and Vendors – there are still unknowns in the implementation of the API related to cost and development time. While the API provides a common search interface, that is really only one part of the equation.
• Focus on the Common Schema workgroup – as mentioned above, a common search interface is only a part of implementing the Web API. There are still questions around data structure and authentication that are prohibiting successful implementation in some cases.
• Data Dictionary – two points on the Data Dictionary: 1. There are still some loose definitions that could be better defined. 2. More MLSs need help in implementing their own native data dictionary feeds.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• All of my priorities are tied to the successful implementation of the Web API. W+R Studios has taken a lead in the industry by stating that we will only accept the Web API for new MLS setups. We continue to work with other development teams to improve processes and make this experience an open resource to others. I work very closely with our lead engineers on this charge and can share our successes and failures to make this process better for others.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces. Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes, I am happy to serve.

Jeremy Crawford
President & CEO, FMLS & RESO Board Advisor

Jeremy Crawford possesses an uncommon combination of talents rarely found in the real estate industry: an experienced technologist, skilled communicator and accomplished business leader. As President & CEO of First Multiple Listing Service, Crawford sits at the helm of one of the real estate industry’s largest MLSs in the nation with over 45,000 MLS subscribers and the only one of its kind in its corporate structure, ownership and revenue model.

Crawford has more than 20 years of information technology experience in real estate, financial services, legal, insurance and education sectors. He knows RESO well. He has served on its Board of Directors, and his leadership role has included taking the reins as its Vice-Chair of the Education and Outreach Workgroup in 2010, which he co-led for two years.

Born and raised in the small town of Johnson City, Tennessee, Crawford proudly embraces his youth as a bona fide Geek. He consistently gravitated towards math and science fields, which lead to his attending high school at University School on the campus of East Tennessee State University. There, he participated in math competitions throughout the state. Crawford was also the catcher for University’s baseball team that competed in Tennessee State’s championship series multiple years in their division.

Crawford embraced multi-tasking early on. He worked his way through college in the computer labs at East Tennessee State University, and credits his mentor Rob Whelan, who oversaw all of the computer labs on campus, for igniting his interest in Computer Science. It became his major at ETSU, as its core curriculum complemented his math and physics coursework. His new passion also led to a secondary job in 1996 while attending ETSU with the Tennessee District Attorney General’s Conference that is responsible for overseeing the state’s 31 judicial districts. Crawford networked all of the judicial districts’ satellite offices across the state of Tennessee and provided courtroom technology support for major cases. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from East Tennessee State University, and while enrolled in graduate school there, he also taught undergraduate information technology courses at ETSU, instructing more than 180 students enrolled in his six classes.

Crawford’s STEM degree would lead to working for SAFECO, one of the largest insurance firms in the U.S., as a Systems Support Administrator. In 1999, he would join BB&T Corporation, one of the nation’s largest financial services corporations, as a Network Manager and Administrator and Bank Officer. At BB&T Crawford managed networking and helpdesk personnel as well as server and network level information systems for a region that comprised more than 40 locations and 450 employees.

His foray into real estate began in the summer of 2001 when he became Director of Network Operations and the 16th employee at MarketLinx Solutions, now known as CoreLogic, one of the largest real estate technology and information service companies in the world.

Under the tutelage of Thad Shows at MarketLinx (now CoreLogic, Crawford would enjoy extensive leadership training that would manifest into a C-level career that began when in 2006, he joined San Diego-based Sandicor, a leading MLS products and services provider, as its Chief Information Officer and was subsequently elected Secretary to the Corporation by the Sandicor Board of Directors, becoming a Corporate Officer. It was there he also served for two years as Vice-Chair of the National Association of REALTORS® Real Estate Standards Organization Education and Outreach Workgroup and won the 2010 San Diego’s Information Technology of the Year Award.

After five years with Sandicor, in 2011 Crawford was named Chief Information Officer for MLSListings Inc., which serves 16,000 real estate professionals and more than 6,000 firms throughout Northern California. At MLSListings he was responsible for all aspects of Enterprise Information Technology, including infrastructure, design, development, implementation, and management. Shortly thereafter, Crawford was promoted to Chief Operations Officer and added to his CIO responsibilities managing customer support, Rules & Regulations, Compliance, Data Licensing, and Software Engineering. He also was elected Secretary to the Corporation, becoming a Corporate Officer in 2013. While COO at MLSListings, Crawford was the lead for the Council of MLS’s Technology Section Sub-Council. He left MLSListings to head up RESO in April 2015 as CEO of one of the most exciting organizations responsible for the creation, promotion and adoption of data standards that is fueling innovation and helping to streamline the real estate transaction and helped grow the organization from 126 to over 850 member organizations. Crawford left RESO in February 2019 to lead First MLS.

A Council of MLS CMLX Level 2 Certified Executive, Crawford also served on the DocuSign Executive Advisory Council, the Interop Advisory Board, and as President of his local homeowner’s association in Corinth Forest, his newest home about 40 miles north of Dallas, Texas. Crawford currently serves on the Real Estate Standards Organization Board as a 2019 Board Advisor. Crawford’s career path can be viewed in detail on his LinkedIn Profile, boasting nearly 7,000 connections!

Crawford attributes his hard-driving work ethic to his dad, who for the last 45 years gets up every morning at 4:30 a.m. to start his day. Described by his peers as charismatic and energetic, Crawford tires to engage every real estate professional he meets into a conversation that leads to talking about FMLS, as he genuinely embraces his organization’s mission to positively change the future of real estate and to provide the highest level of products and services to real estate brokers and agents across the state of Georgia.

His community activities have ranged from remaining an active supporter of his church in Knoxville, Tennessee, to undertaking local fundraising efforts for a variety of causes over the years. He continues to support Sigma Phi Epsilon, Paralyzed Veterans of America and RPAC (the Realtors Political Action Fund).

In his free time, Crawford is likely to be found spending time surrounded by his family: his wife of 12 years and their two young children. Crawford is a foodie who enjoys cooking to relieve stress, often with a glass of Rochioli Pinot Noir in hand, whipping up a meal that will also feed neighbors stopping by for a visit. He remains an avid sports participant in golf, tennis, basketball, football and baseball, and is a tireless fan of Tennessee football.

Brian Tepfer
Class B: Under $25M annual Revenue

Executive Vice President, Rapattoni Corporation

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• – The RESO organization should focus on gaining RESO Web API adoption by continuing to promote the benefits of the API over traditional RETS.
– Continue to progress on the API Update standard to allow listing data to be updated/inputted through the RESO Web API
– Work with the Data Dictionary committee to continue its great work to create standard names for every data point that we can make available, not only from MLS data, but any relevant data source. I would also work to continue our progress on the AMS data Dictionary to ensure membership data can be access and used to benefit our industry.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• As a key executive of an MLS vendor, I will have direct influence and decision making abilities to help adopt, implemented and promote the initiatives of the RESO community, which I feel helps all of our shared userbase from brokers, MLS’s, agents and technology partners.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.
Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes, if voted in, I am committed to all time requirements and meetings to ensure I am contributing and doing my part as a member of the board.

Andy Woolley
Class B: $25M and Above Annual Revenue

Vice President of Industry Development, Homes.com

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• 1) Addressing the barriers that continue obstructing universal adoption of Web API. As an example, we find at Homes.com, many MLSs have fewer fields mapped and available in their Web API feeds than exist in their RETS feeds. That is one barrier to widespread adoption that needs to be addressed. Parity is essential, improvement is desired.
2) Continue spreading the message and value of Web API throughout the industry, with an emphasis towards organizations who are consuming data feeds.
3) Continue introducing new value, building on the foundation established with DD and Web API. As an example, the Universal Property Identifier will provide tremendous value as it becomes more broadly available. We need to keep finding opportunities like UPI to iterate on the value standards have created.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• Widespread adoption throughout the property technology community must occur for the value of RESO to continue expanding. In my role at Homes.com, I have a great perspective on the effort involved in converting data aggregation infrastructure from legacy RETS to Web API. I’m eager to share that perspective as a RESO board member and help develop strategies to encourage widespread adoption.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.
Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Yes, I welcome the opportunity to contribute.

Michael Wurzer

• Real-time updates for replication, media management standards, and increase utilization of Web API for use cases beyond replication.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• Standards work takes time, focus, and collaboration, and I’m committed to providing all three to RESO and the broader standards community if I’m elected. I’ve been a strong advocate for and implementer of RESO standards for over twenty years, and hope to continue that work in the next term if I’m privileged to be elected.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.
Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

Chief Operating Officer/General Manager, Realtors Property Resource, LLC (RPR, LLC)

1. What are the three most important priorities or initiatives that RESO should pursue during the next two years?

• Driving standards that meet the evolution of the real estate tech industry that benefit inter-connectivity between systems. Expanded SSO standards that leverage security best practices, especially with vendors who service brokerage firms and franchises, where there is a growing need. Keeping an eye on the need for resources for the Commercial industry, which is seeing a high amount of third party technology investment.

2. How do you see your contributions as a board member being utilized for realizing these priorities?

• RPR is one of the largest resources serving the members of the National Association of Realtors. The platform crosses residential and Commercial via both web and mobile. It relies upon a network of stakeholders including MLSs, State and Local Associations and an engaged base of over 10,000 registered brokerage firms and franchises. The knowledge gleaned from servicing those members is available to RESO, including broad participation in work groups by the RPR team, which is dedicated to the RESO mission.

3. The Board meets regularly, via conference calls and some in-person. Board members also are called to serve on or chair committees and special taskforces.
Are you willing and able to meet the time requirements to serve as a director for a 2-year term?

• Ready and able.
